He prepared at Millbrook School and Choate, following his father, Eugene 1909, to Princeton. Gene majored in politics, was on the golf squad, and joined Elm Club. Those years were followed by Harvard Law School and Columbia Business School.

Prior to moving to Maine in 1956, Gene was a vice president of National City Bank of New York, a vice president of Franklin Management Co. of Boston, and president of Casco Northern Bank. After retiring in 1984, he worked as a consultant with the First New Hampshire Bank of Maine.

He was a trustee of Nasson College, Berwick Academy, and Louis T. Graves Memorial Library of Kennebunkport, Maine, and was a volunteer with the Maine Audubon Society, Mercy Hospital, Maine Medical Center, and Cathedral Church of St. Luke, among other organizations. He also was a member of the Cumberland Club, the Princeton Alumni Association of Maine, and the University Club of New York. For recreation, Gene was a golfer and an avid reader.

He is survived by James McFeeley, his companion of more than 60 years, to whom his classmates extend sincere condolences.
