Bob Cartotto died Sept. 26, 2008, in Longboat Key, Fla. His wife, Louise, died in 1997, and his entry in Reflections: 60 Years Out underscored how much he, his children, and his grandchildren were impacted by her death.
Born Sept. 27, 1922, in West New York, N.J., Bob came to Princeton via Blair Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree in September 1943 before spending two years in the Navy as an engineering officer aboard LSTs.
After the war, he became co-owner of the Cartotto Embroidery Co. in West New York. The embroidery business then took him to Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and later to Longboat Key, where he and Louise were active in the Princeton Club of Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
At Princeton, Bob roomed for three years with Don Bryant, and then in his senior year with Bob Holzl, Bryce Roberts, Bill Rossmassler, and Gordon Whitman in Blair.
