Cyrus Schreiner, also known to us as “C.B.,” “Cy,” and “Bryce,” died Jan. 7, 2010, in Upper St. Clair, Pa.

Born in Mount Lebanon, Pa., he came to Princeton from Mount Lebanon High School. At Princeton he majored in history, took his meals at Dial, and was an active member of Whig-Clio. His senior-year roommates were Johnny Nesbitt and Bob Phenix. Bryce was recently named vice president of his class.

After earning a law degree at the University of Pittsburgh and being admitted to the Pennsylvania bar, he practiced law locally in Mount Lebanon until 2004. All his life he was active in the Mount Lebanon United Presbyterian Church and in many denominational activities. He served on boards including the Mount Lebanon Public Library, Mount Lebanon Federal Savings & Loan, and, for 40 years, the Light of Life Rescue Mission.

Since 1984, Bryce had resided at Friendship Village, a retirement community that he helped to launch.

In 1945 he married Anna Jean Heinrich, who predeceased him in 2003. He is survived by a brother, Samuel Schreiner ’42; four children; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. We join Bryce’s family in mourning his passing.
