This first solo blues album by Adam Gussow ’79 *00 features the artist on amplified harmonica, footdrums, and vocals. Among the CD’s 14 tracks are “Good Morning Little Schoolgirl,” “Sunshine of Your Love,” and a remake of Stanley Turrentine’s soul-jazz classic, “Sugar.” A blues harmonica player and teacher, Gussow has been praised by American Harmonica Newsletter for exhibiting the sort of “technical mastery and innovative brilliance that comes along once in a generation.” Gussow is an associate professor of English and Southern Studies at the University of Mississippi. For many years he has performed and recorded with Mississippi-born guitarist Sterling “Mr. Satan” Magee as the duo Satan and Adam.
