Dave died July 31, 2011, after a short but valiant battle with lung cancer.

Dave was born in Riverdale, Md. He graduated from St. Paul’s School in Brookland-
ville, Md. At Princeton he majored in religion and was a member of Cap and Gown. He married Laurie McCulloch in 1965.
 
Upon graduation from Princeton, Dave joined Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. (now JPMorgan Chase). During his 30 years there, he held various positions in public finance, municipal bonds, and mergers and acquisitions. He was founder and president of JPMorgan Securities from 1986 to 1989. At the time of his retirement in 1995, Dave was managing director and senior credit officer there.
 
Dave and Laurie moved to Portland, Maine, where two of their children had settled. He became majority owner and manager of the Portland Pirates, the American Hockey League affiliate team of the Washington Capitals. While living in Maine, Dave served as a trustee of the Boys and Girls Club of Portland.
 
Dave and Laurie returned to the Baltimore area, settling in Annapolis in 2004. He became involved in the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and also served as a trustee of St. Paul’s School from 2005 until his death.
 
The class sends condolences to Laurie; their children, Tim, Laurie, and Annie and their spouses; and seven grandchildren.
