Lee Weil died Oct. 4, 2011, from complications after a heart attack. He was predeceased by six months by Mabel, his wife of 59 years.
Lee was a proud graduate of Berkshire School, on whose board he served for 33 years. At Princeton he was involved with WPRU and was a member of Terrace. His bachelor’s degree in economics in June 1949 came with honors.
Lee’s had a 60-year career as an investment adviser and became a partner in various Wall Street firms. He was active on many industry committees. A lifelong Republican, he was a staunch supporter of Ronald Reagan, who appointed him to the President’s Council on Physical Fitness. Lee was an enthusiastic skier, biker, and squash player. He also served as U.S. ambassador to Nepal from 1984 to 1987.
Lee is survived by three children, Leon Jr., Kate, and Cary; and several grandchildren. He was always a loyal classmate and avid Princetonian.
