Working with authors

I much enjoyed your issue (Jan. 18) that focused on Princeton authors and Princeton folk with close relations to books and book publishing. We at Writers House guide and advise authors in the preparation of proposals for books, both fiction and nonfiction, often editing their work before it goes to publishers. We also find publishers for them and negotiate their contracts, not only with book publishers but with movie and TV companies and with live theatre organizations that adapt their works into plays and musicals. We have 15 agents working in two adjacent buildings that once were the offices of the Astor family, as well as offices in London and San Diego, and our clients include such luminaries as Stephen Hawking, Neil Gaiman, Ken Follett, Michael Lewis, Nora Roberts, and the estates of Herman Hesse, Gabriela Mistral, and Martin Luther King Jr.We also are the largest supplier of juvenile and young-adult books to publishers, representing many prize-winning writers and such series as Captain Underpants, Junie B. Jones, Twilight, and the Eragon series. For a bit more information, I invite you to take a look at our website,
