Robert Slocum died Feb. 17, 2013, at his home.
Bob was born in Minneapolis and graduated from the Blake School. At Princeton, he majored in psychology, was a member of Quadrangle, and participated in many sports. After graduation, he was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Germany, where he worked as a French interpreter. There he met his future bride, Mechthild.
After his discharge, he worked for the Pillsbury Company conducting consumer research. He later held management positions with International Multifoods and Carmichael Lynch Advertising.
Bob was an active sailor. He was commodore of the Wayzata Yacht Club and a longtime Lake Minnetonka resident.
He is survived by Mechthild, his wife of 54 years; sons Christopher and Peter; his brother, James; and five grandchildren. The class extends condolences to them and is honored by his service to our country.
