How about a full-court press by Princetonians to save the tiger? There were 100,000 at the start of the 20th century. There are only 3,000 to 4,000 left. They have lost 93 percent of their historic range over the last 100 years.

We could lead. Others with the tiger mascot could join us. It could be accomplished through the highly esteemed World Wildlife Fund or through a similar organization. If we are not the ones to save our mascot from extinction, who is? If now is not the time, when is the time?
