Corny Knox died July 8, 2013, in Shelburne, Vt.
He prepared at The Hill School and at Princeton was a member of Quadrangle Club. Corny left Princeton at the end of sophomore year to join the Army. In the military, he was a forward observer and a captain in the field artillery.
Upon his discharge from the Army, he joined NBC-TV and began a 40-year career in the broadcasting industry. In 1955 he switched to CBS, where he worked until 1986, retiring as vice president for affiliate relations.
Corny lived in Darien, Conn., for 50 years. He was a member of Noroton Yacht Club and Silvermine Golf Club. He was passionate about sailing and won the Ensign Long Island Sound championship. Corny loved sports, especially baseball, and music, especially jazz.
He married Nancy Cronyn in 1943. She predeceased him in 2010. Corny is survived by his children, Wendy Bulkowski, Holly Adkins, Scott Knox, and Nancy Porter; his sister, Eleanor; and six grandchildren.
