Albert died Oct. 18, 2015.
Born in New Orleans, he attended Metairie Park Country Day School and then followed his father, a member of the Class of 1918, to Princeton. Albert played 150-pound football and was a member of Cottage Club. He majored in English and graduated with honors. After college, Albert continued the family tradition of a tour of duty in the Navy.
He career was in advertising, eventually owning and operating Lamar Outdoor Advertising Co. in Jackson, Miss. In 1978, he purchased a cable television business in Hancock County and added markets in three other states.
He retired after selling the advertising company to start a joyful life of sailing, fly-fishing, golf, travel, and summers on the Maine coast. Albert lived in Mississippi for 30 years and served in many civic capacities. In 1992 he returned to New Orleans and joined many organizations there.
Albert is survived by his wife, Eugenia; children Gabrielle, Albert Jr., Mart, and Madeleine; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepchildren; and four step-grandchildren. His memorial service recessional music was “Going Back to Nassau Hall.” The class extends condolences to Albert’s family and is honored by his service to our country.
