Imrani was a Jewish-Iranian poet who lived in the 15th and 16th centuries and set parts of the books of Joshua, Judges, Ruth, and 1 and 2 Samuel to verse. The Bible as a Judeo-Persian Epic: An Illustrated Manuscript of ’Imrani’s Fath-Nama is a new annotated translation of Imrani’s work by Vera Basch Moreen ’72 and includes reproductions of the 23 Persian miniature paintings to originally accompany the manuscript.
