Professor George is the poster child of conservative Catholicism. He champions faith and adherence to traditional values, but needs to remember that a person may be a good person if unaffiliated with a church. In the 1950s Father Hugh Halton, Catholic chaplain and a fiery Dominican prior, created quite a stir on campus when he demanded to be appointed to the faculty to offer balance to the atheist professor Walter Stace. The Daily Princetonian had a field day with the controversy, creating some issues for Catholic students. Good luck, Professor George, as you face students unaccustomed to doctrinal orthodoxy and a rigid moral code. You now have the pulpit Father Halton coveted.
