Empty seats in Palmer Stadium (and the straw boaters and striped jackets of University Band members visible behind the flag and to the right of these ROTC cadets) suggest that this photo may have been taken at a special event or a sparsely attended football game. The 82-year-old stadium was razed in 1997. The flag bearers are identified as Barbara Robinson ’97, Brian Cummings ’94, center, and Brian Hayes ’97. Cummings is holding a flag with the University shield. Can any PAW readers remember the occasion for the photo?
