Four years ago, Bianca Bosker ’08 was covering the Princeton campus for PAW; today, she is the technology editor at The Huffington Post, writing articles daily about Apple, Facebook, Google, and other institutions of modern life while tweeting regularly. Preceding her at PAW by just a few years was Andrew Romano ’04, now a senior writer at Newsweek and The Daily Beast and an occasional television commentator.

For decades, Princeton journalists have gotten their start as On the Campus writers at your alumni magazine; PAW editors have followed the columnists from afar after they graduated and were transformed from eager student writers to seasoned professionals. So it is with pride that we introduce this year’s group of contributors.

Woodrow Wilson School major Angela Wu ’12 returns for her third and final year as an On the Campus writer. She’s still a student, but she’s no novice: On her blog, she describes herself as a freelance journalist and undergraduate — in that order — who has had internships at Money, Newsweek, and Marie Claire magazines; helped to edit the Prince; and is co-president of the Press Club. Angela’s column on student consulting groups appears in this issue, on page 24.

Also in this issue is a column by Gregory Rosalsky, a first-year master’s student in the WWS. Greg is a natural reporter, though he has used his skills mainly as an activist until now. Since graduating with highest honors from the University of California, Santa Cruz, he has helped to define the messages of a group opposed to the Iraq war and of the Obama campaign, and worked in the White House communications office.

Over the year, you also will see the work of three juniors: English major Lillian Li, editor of the 2-year-old Public Journal (a self-described “whimsical megaphone for the secrets, desires, reflections, and obsessions that we all repress and hide”); oboist and medical-center volunteer Eric Silberman, who is getting a certificate in creative writing while majoring in molecular biology; and Prince executive editor for news Tara Thean, who blogs for PAW in addition to writing her On the Campus columns. Tara spent the summer as a writer for Time magazine.

Working with these students is a great pleasure, reminding us on a daily basis of the talented people that make Princeton special. We look forward to reading their columns throughout the year and following their writing and work after they leave us, in whatever careers they choose.
