A graduate of his hometown high school in Montclair, N.J., at Princeton he studied psychology and belonged to Cloister. He left Princeton in his junior year to enter the Army, where he completed officer training at Fort Riley, Kan. 

Following his discharge as a second lieutenant, he held several jobs in sales, married, and completed his education at Upsala College’s evening division. He then joined his father-in-law’s commercial-collection business. His advice at our 25th: “Don’t pay your bills too fast.” When he retired in 1998, he was its owner and president. 

Jack was a competitor on the tennis court and at the bridge table. He was devoted to barbershop singing, both vocalizing and directing. He greatly enjoyed coaching boys’ basketball, and was a New York Yankees and Knicks fan. 

We will remember Jack, especially at our mini-reunions, as a dedicated Tiger, gregarious and always with a warm handshake and smile. He enjoyed being with his longtime partner, Addie Vogel, at her Grafton, Vt., home and in Florida. 

Jack is survived by Addie and one daughter and two sons from a previous marriage.
