Re “Tiger Attire” (Notebook, July 15): The ’48 blazer is rather jazzy, so I wear it on rare occasions when that’s suitable, e.g., my nephew’s funeral jazz parade in New Orleans; a party with a Guys and Dolls theme; and as board member of a charity, at its fundraising auction. I always wear it with gray slacks and white bucks, and the ’48 hat — rather serious.

None of this relates to my feelings for Princeton, which are strong enough to transcend a costume that is out of place almost everywhere except Reunions — and our jacket is a tad more presentable than most. Check it out.
