Jim graduated from Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights, Ill., where he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. At Princeton he played the same three sports. His love of music led him in 1959 to form Princeton’s first rock ’n’ roll band, The Omegas, later renamed Ivory Jim and the Headhunters. The band subsequently played at many of our reunions. Following graduation, he married Bonnie Kavinsky, with whom he had two children, Shellie and Kavin. They later divorced.

Initially he worked for Procter & Gamble and then for Sealed Air Corp. Moving to the Midwest, he operated Hunter Heating and Air Conditioning for 17 years. After living in Florida briefly, he worked three years in California. To fulfill a dream, he bought a sailboat and sailed the Caribbean for 13 months. He spent the remainder of his working life in South Florida as a yacht broker specializing in sailboats. In 1993 he married Laureen Boulden. In retirement Jim formed a party band, performing at social events and the local VA hospital. 

Jim is survived by Laureen, daughter Shellie, son Kavin, four grandchildren, and their extended family. The class extends condolences to all.
