Robert (Bob) passed away Feb. 21, 2021, in Springfield, Massachusetts, just short of his 96th birthday. He entered Princeton from Quincy High School, following his father George Hubert Bonsall 1915 and brother George Hubert Bonsall Jr. ’45. A member of Court Club, Bob earned his degree in chemical engineering, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. In 1950 he married Dorothy (Dottie) Hussey to whom he remained devotedly married for 68 years. Bob spent the majority of his career with Monsanto living in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, where he was active in town affairs, serving as chairman of the Water Board and town assessor. A lover of nature, history, and genealogy, he traveled extensively in pursuit of these passions. A proud Princetonian, he and his wife enjoyed many Princeton Reunions. Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, George H. Bonsall ’45 and Mary Ellen Guptill, wife Dottie and son George Douglass Bonsall. Bob is survived by daughter Robin B. Stedman ’75 and her husband Peter ’75; son Roger M. Bonsall and his wife Jeanne; son Robert A. Bonsall Jr. and his wife Ann Marie; son Bruce H. Bonsall and his wife Denise; and seven grandchildren Crystal, Ryan, Sarah, Collin ‘15, Benjamin, Meredith, Kristin, and Matthew.
