Claude died of natural causes June 28, 2022, in Tucson, Ariz., at age 75.

Born Dec. 29, 1946, in Gretna, Va., Claude earned his undergraduate degree in physics at MIT and a Ph.D. in physics at Princeton in 1976. He continued his research as a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell.

Following a leadership position at Aeronautical Research Associates of Princeton, Claude founded a consulting company, Applied Physics Technology, that carried out studies in applied physics for commercial and government agencies.

Claude was passionate about understanding the phenomena that science could not explain. In graduate school he focused on unified field theory, which seeks to unite all the governing theories of force and matter in the universe into a single framework. He believed that the science of the paranormal was an essential missing piece of that framework and felt that his purpose was to learn and teach how humans are more than their physical bodies. Claude’s investigations into the paranormal were published in his books The Synchronized Universe, Life Force, and Science of the Soul.

Claude is survived by his children, Alexandra and William, and their mother Marian; his siblings, Mary Ellen, Patricia, and James; and his grandchild, Oliver.
