Professor Happer is not the only one who believes the so-called consensus on global warming is badly flawed. An Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine petition signed by 31,000 scientists (including 9,021 Ph.D.s) rejected the claim of human-caused global warming. A TV documentary by John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel, showed that our National Climate Data Center (part of NOAA and NASA) has been manipulating data. During the 1960s and into 1980s the number of stations used to calculate global surface temperatures was about 6,000; by 1990 the number had decreased to 1,500, as many of the stations in colder climates had been shut down. Not adjusting for the loss of these stations makes global temperatures appear higher than was in fact the case.

Also, a Russian think tank reported climate research units (CRUs) were ignoring data from colder regions, even though these stations were still reporting data. In other words, CRUs deliberately are manipulating data to hype their global-warming claims. This is probably the reason NOAA and NASA continue to refuse to release their datasets (for independent review and verification) on which they base their global-warming claims. In addition, 30 years of more accurate satellite data from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (which is open for independent review) does not agree with NOAA and NASA global-warming trends.
