Gregg Lange ’70’s Dec. 12 column at PAW Online that offered a fond farewell to the Class of 1925 after the death of the last surviving class member, Malcolm Warnock, drew an appreciative response from PAW readers.

“As a son of 1925 (William Dwight), I was delighted by the class tribute, and felt personally connected to much of it,” wrote DON DWIGHT ’53. He remembered a 65th-reunion luncheon at Prospect at which George Kennan ’25 “held forth on foreign policy for an hour, without notes, enthralling his audience of six classmates and me.”

MIKE ROBBINS ’55 commented that the class “has resonance with me. George Kennan was a primary source for my senior thesis, and I was in his home twice for lengthy interviews. He introduced me to Adlai Stevenson ’22.”

GEORGE BUSTIN ’70 recalled another class member: “S. Barksdale Penick ’25 was a key figure in the development of the alumni schools committees; each year three outstanding regional chapters are awarded an honor that bears his name.”
