According to the Declaration of Independence, the Natural Law grants us Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. During the 1960s and 1970s many university students whom I taught in California protested the war in Vietnam not only because they thought it wrong but mostly because they feared getting killed if they were drafted to fight in it -- with good reason. Students today protesting our gun laws and the blind selfishness of our congressional leaders also want to save their lives. They should emulate their brethren in the past who did so so effectively; they drove LBJ from power and forced Nixon and Kissinger to end a war they had hoped to continue.
