Grateful for the Princeton University Summer Journalism Program
I just wanted to congratulate Ngan Chiem ’23 on being appointed as the new JRN x PAW Reporting fellow, and super exciting to hear that the JRN program is now sponsoring it. I wanted to also give a shout-out to the Princeton University Summer Journalism Program (SJP) founded in 2002 by Richard Just ’01, Michael Koike ’01, Greg Mancini ’01, and other editors from The Daily Princetonian. Similar to Ngan, I was a student at SJP in 2006, coordinator in 2008, and spent any free time I had at The Daily Princetonian. It’s a life-changing experience for hundreds of students from low-income backgrounds (many who go on to attend top schools like Princeton) and I’m forever grateful to all of the Princeton alumni who started it and have supported it over the years.
