I played baseball with Carl and Herman Belz as a boy in Haddon Heights, New Jersey, where they led our Little League team to the NJ State Championship in 1950. I bumped into Herman decades later at graduate school, at the University of Washington in Seattle, before he became a history professor at the University of Maryland. I am presently retired from the U.S. Geological Survey, and living at The Highlands, a retirement community in Topsham, Maine. I have many memories of both Carl and Herman from our Haddon Heights years!
