Steve was a wonderful, warm and talented guy. We roomed in D.C. one summer when he worked in the Administrative Office of the Supreme Court — which he loved. He was great to talk to, particularly on issues where politics and the law intersected. We’d go to dinner sometimes at Chumley’s — the “hidden” old speakeasy in the Village. Many years later, still much missed.
