I met Don in ’63-’64. I was a junior “townie” at Princeton High School. We had moved from London to Princeton. My father was a PanAm pilot based at JFK. He was my first love who lived at the Ivy Club. He used to give me a ride home on his bicycle. He never took advantage of me — honorable man. I still have letters from him. We moved back to Seattle in ’65 and I graduated from high school there and went on to Western Washington State College. I was of course surprised to see that he ended up in Thorp, Washington, which I have been to many times.
