Dorina Amendola ’02 speaks of “a majority of American voters,” implying she is referring to last November’s presidential election. If so, surely she knows that Trump failed to win a majority of votes. Instead, he won a plurality, with 49.8%. Yet he and his supporters keep claiming this constitutes a “mandate” to do whatever he wants. In my book, a minority of votes is far from a mandate.
