George Lawrence Parmentier ’42

LARRY DIED Jan. 14, 1994, in Stuart, Fla of complications following a middleear infection. He spent his business career with DuPont. He retired in 1978, as manager of the chlorine products division.

A sophomore transfer from Lehigh Univ., Larry majored in electrical engineering and was a member of Key and Seat Club. During the war, he served for three years as an aeronautical engineer in the navy, with the rank of lieutenant S/G. He then began his 34year association with DuPont, which included a wide variety of assignments, ending up at the headquarters in Wilmington.

An ardent sailor, cruising the East Coast and the Caribbean; an active golfer; and a tennis player, Larry moved to Stuart, making his home at the Yacht and Country Club, of which he served as president shortly before his death. A dedicated Princetonian, he attended all the recent '42 minireunions and was a member of the Alumni Council.

To his widow, Betty, with whom he had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; to his sons, Jim '66 and Bob; and to his daughters, Jacqueline and Carol, the class extends its condolences for the loss of this warmhearted, caring individual.
