John M. Duff ’35

JACK DUFF died Sept. 9, 1991, after a long and difficult bout with leukemia, Jack was a Pittsburgher tried and trueShadyside Academy, Princeton, and then the Univ. of Pittsburgh Law School,

He was admitted to the Bar in 1939 and commenced private practice with his father, judge John T. Duff. In 1941 he entered banking, serving at various times as trust officer and V.P. of several banks in the Pittsburgh area, including Potter Title & Trust, Fidelity Trust, Pittsburgh National Bank, and Gallatin National Bank.

In 1970 he became deputy commonwealth attorney general and served in that capacity for about nine years. His later years were devoted to private law practice.

He was active in community, charitable, service, and alumni organizations too numerous to mention.

Jack is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Anne Roberts Duff., two sons, John M. Jr. '63 and Daniel R.; a daughter, Deborah Booker; a brother, William; and four grandchildren, to whom the Class extends its sympathy.
