Paul died in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Oct. 19, 2010, after a long bout with cancer.  

At Princeton his roommates were Burt Ford and Sid Howell. A member of Charter Club, he played freshman 150-pound football, ran track sprints, and participated in Triangle Club.

After graduating from Harvard Medical School, Paul served two years in the Navy. He then settled in Fort Lauderdale as a proctologist and subsequently became chief of surgery at Imperial Point Hospital. A Fort Lauderdale Yacht Club member for 30 years, Paul competed in sailing races and enjoyed fishing and playing squash.

Most summers he was in Missouri with his son, Paul III, a surgical nurse. He had three children from his first marriage, two of whom predeceased him.

Paul’s wife of 46 years, Jetta, survives, as do their children, Jeleen and Christopher; two grandchildren; Paul’s brother, Robert; and Paul III.
