The Vanishing Wild (NewSouth Publishing) is a tribute to the iconic, but increasingly endangered, native wildlife of Australia. Hausheer takes readers on her adventures to the highest peaks of the Snowy Mountains to look for pygmy possums and the spinifex grasslands at night for the elusive night parrot. Through these varied landscapes, readers encounter the gravity of the current extinction crisis threatening these incredible creatures, while also learning more about the future of conservation and hope for these wild places and their inhabitants in Australia.
