In Response to: Higher Educating [6]

It made me smile to read “Higher Educating” in the November issue.

The engineering school’s new freshman curriculum was long past due to fix the major retention issue. Fifty-plus years ago, I switched out of engineering into philosophy sophomore year for the same reasons mentioned in the article, thinking “What’s the point? ... Is that all there is?”

Ironically, after Princeton, I spent the next four decades doing systems engineering in the tech field.
