I do not doubt for even one second that Nelson Hendler ’66 is someone well worth knowing, and quite likely also the finest gentleman on Earth. But I am disgusted and discouraged by his ego-driven need to kill by rifle shot an animal as magnificent as the kudu, and then to display the wanton act by a self-congratulatory photograph of himself alongside the now sadly lifeless carcass (Class Notes, Jan. 19). The act is senseless and vicious and reflects an old-school patriarchal mentality that I hope we will all encounter less frequently as our world forges ahead into what we can only hope is a more thoughtful and generous future.
