Alexander Edwards ’43

SANDY DIED June 22, 1993, in Somerville, N.J., at the age of 71.

Born in Greenwich, Conn., he had lived in Flemington, NJ, for the past year and a half. Prior to that time, Sandy was a longtime resident of Pennington, N.J.

While on campus, Sandy was a member of Ivy Club. He also competed at the varsity level for three Tiger teamsfootball, hockey, and rugby.

He served in the army with the 13th Armored Division in Europe during WWII, and emerged with the rank of first lieutenant.

Sandy was a retired advertising executive who was affiliated during his working career with such popular magazines as SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, MCCALL'S, and BRIDES.

He is survived by three daughtersMargaret Edwards, Jane Ajello, and Alexandria Edwards; three sonsAlexander Jr., Robert, and Arnold; four grandchildren; a brother, Robert; and a sister, Eunice Tenney.

Four classmatesBill Sloane, Don Young, Dick Tilghman, and Stever Aubreyattended the memorial service at Ivy.
