Donald V. Bierwert ’43

DON DIED Apr. 26, 1993, of cancer, at the age of 73. He was born in Minneapolis, but had lived in Northampton, Mass., for the past 50 years.

Don's entire working career was spent with one company, Monsanto Chemical, where he was an engineer at the Chicopee, Mass., plant.

A former water commissioner in Northampton, Don served during the 1950s on the specialneeds committee for the Northampton school system.

He was a member of the Jerusalem Lodge of Masons and a former member of the Lions Club of Northampton.

Don is survived by his widow, the former Jessie Gare; a son, Kim G.; two daughters, Crisca and Karen; a brother, Thane L.; a sister, Elizabeth Kuhn; and four grandchildren.
