Baxter died peacefully Dec. 31, 2013.

Born in Montclair, N.J., he graduated from Montclair High School. Baxter left Princeton after his freshman year and graduated from Emory University in 1955. His 40-year professional career was as a system architect/programmer at IBM. Then, after retiring in 1997, he formed a dot-com business.

He was predeceased by Julia, his wife of 59 years. The class extends condolences to his children David, Alice, Baxter III, Michael, and Dorabeth; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
