John died Oct. 27, 2016, in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Belleville Township High School. He left Princeton at the end of his second year and was drafted into the Army and served in Labrador, Canada. On his return, he graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in geological engineering. His career included work as a surface geologist in Mexico, and subsequently he was employed by the Pan American Petroleum Corp.

He married Faye Quirk in 1953, and they had three children. She predeceased him, but he is survived by his daughters, Michelle and Deanne; son Scott; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The class extends condolences to his family and is honored by his service to our country.
