John Robert Castles ’41

Body

Belatedly, we received the information that John died in Chicago on Mar. 30, 1979.

He came to Princeton from Chicago's Morgan Park Military Academy but left in the fall of sophomore year to care for his invalid mother after his father died. He later graduated from the Univ. of Chicago and then served overseas in the Army during WWII.

John was a banker and lawyer in the Chicago area all his life. Although the class had minimal contact with him over the years, his roommate, Alan Clark, asserts that he made many friends and treasured his experience at Princeton.

He is survived by his widow, Ursula, and her two children, who all live in Chicago. To them we extend our sincere condolences.
