Loy died Sept. 17, 2016, in Webster Grove, Mo. While he did not graduate from Princeton, he earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Colorado, where he met his wife, Peggy.

Loy’s career was at Ralston Purina, where he managed commodity buying. Upon retirement he stayed with his hobby of writing poetry, and served as president of the St. Louis Poetry Center.

Loy is survived by his three children.
