Neil died Aug. 8, 2010, in Boston. She was 29.

Neil grew up in Greensboro, N.C., where she attended Greensboro Day School. At Princeton, she was an enthusiastic member of Butler College, Pi Beta Phi sorority, and Ivy Club. She also reached out to the local community and volunteered as a soccer coach in Trenton. Neil majored in politics and graduated cum laude. She loved Princeton with a passion that was contagious, and returned whenever she could.

Neil later attended the University of North Carolina Law School, where she further distinguished herself academically. She graduated with honors and was a member of the North Carolina Law Review. She joined the law firm of Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson. In the spring of 2008, Neil married her UNC Law classmate, William Miller.

Neil’s infectious spirit, loyalty, generosity and bright smile will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband; her mother, Carolyn Maddux; her sister, Meriwether Maddux Powell; and her brother-in-law, Tanner Powell ’02.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute or Susan G. Komen for the Cure (“Team Neil”). The class sends its deepest condolences to her family and friends.
