BOB SHEPARDSON died of cancer on Aug. 17, 1989, in Basking Ridge, N.J., after a year-long illness. A lifelong resident of New Jersey, Bob was an internist with his own medical practice. After graduating from Princeton, where he played varsity football and lacrosse and was a member of Cap & Gown, Bob worked in the pharmacology division at CIBA Pharmaceutical Products and studied at Columbia Univ.'s School of General Studies in order to quality for medical school. It was at CIBA that he met his wife, the former Lilyan Parasles. From there Bob went to the Univ. of Rochester Medical School, from which he graduated in 1964. For the next three years he was called to active duty with the Navy, serving aboard a destroyer repair ship in the Western Pacific and at the San Diego Recruit Depot. In 1967 Bob moved east to take a fellowship in pathology at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York and subsequently at Harlem Hospital. In addition to his widow, Bob is survived by four children, Alethea, Robert, Phaedra, and Nikki, and three sisters. To them the Class extends its sympathies.
