Robert W Kennedy ’34

Body

Bob Kennedy died Apr. 30, 1995, in Beaufort, S.C., where he had lived since 1987. Earlier this year, he underwent nearly three weeks of hospitalization for treatment of a collapsed lung. A month later, he wrote a classmate that he was "getting stronger every day and hoping to see you all in June."

In the fall of 1942, Bob, then a recent graduate of O.C.S., stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. There he met Lucy Seigler (Oglethorpe '4 1). They married the following spring, and, as Bob would write some 40 years later, "I've had a full and happy, though modest, life, Lucy has made all the difference ... Some lass!"

Surviving, besides Lucy, are their daughter Catherine, a step-grandson, and Bob's brother, Henry M. "Ty" Kennedy '32. To them, we offer our sympathies.
