Born Sept. 15, 1933, to Janet and Vinton Hall in Eugene, Ore., Tom died July 19, 2015, from injuries suffered in a fall. At 81 years old, he was the patriarch of a large and loving family.

From Highland Park High School in Illinois. Tom majored in history and joined Cannon. He roomed at 111 Cuyler Hall with Al Fasulo, Bob Del Tufo, and Dick Conroy. After service in the Navy, Tom went into advertising and worked for Procter & Gamble, Leo Burnett Worldwide, Foote, Cone & Belding, Wells Rich Greene, and Adville USA.

He loved the Chisox, the Bulls, and later the Los Angeles Clippers, but most of all, Oregon Ducks football and basketball and all things Oregon, Obama and liberal thinking — and a dry martini. Tom enjoyed exercise, particularly when it involved the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Tom also did volunteer work for the University Religious Center.

He so clearly loved his collection of friends, old and new, from all walks of life, but most of all he loved his family. Tom is survived by his six children and grandchildren.

Although Tom’s body has left this earth, his boundless love, at-the-ready smile, and considerate, compassionate, and youthful spirit will remain with all of us, always. Wisdom from Tom: “Refuse to be insulted.”
