Thomas Wright McClure ’52
TOM MCCLURE DIED May 29, 1990, following a stroke. His memorial service was held in the Scott Funeral Home, Wilmette, Ill., on June 2, 1990.
Born in Pittsburgh Sept. 5, 1929, Tom majored in politics at Princeton, and belonged to Tiger Inn. After graduation he entered the military, and served in Korea.
Most of Tom's business career centered in the Chicago area. His forte lay in sales, where his colleagues enjoyed his sense of humor, a spirit of bravado, and his passion for golf. After a twoyear stint with TV GUIDE, Tom was recruited by NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC magazine as an advertising salesman for the Midwest. He held that position from 1976 until his retirement in 1988, when he formed a private consulting firm.
Tom is survived by his four children, Thomas W. Ill, William, Jennifer, and Jeffrey. To them we offer our profound condolences.
