William Cameron Kelley ’48

Body

WITH GREAT SORROW, we record the death of Bill Kelley Oct. 5, 1993, while undergoing heart bypass surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Bill was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Minneapolis, but came to Princeton from Mariemount (Ohio) H.S. Flying was a big part 'of Bill's life; he was a V5 air cadet when he stepped on campus the summer of 1944, after two years in the South Pacific. When WWII was over, V5 programs were cancelled, and Bill left Princeton in June of 1945 to return to TWA. as sales manager in Cairo.

He visited more than 50 countries in his career with TWA., Sabena, and Braniff Airlines as a sales and regional manager. He later started his own travel agency, which still operates. On Nov. 4, 1950, Bill married Audrey Johnson, who survives him along with three sons, Steven, William and Scott, and a daughter, Carolyn.

Bill and Audrey retired from Long Island to Beaver Lake, Hiwasse, Ark., three years ago, so he could enjoy his passions of boating, flyfishing, and skeetshooting and his devotion to photography, in which he won many awards and ribbons. Although Bill left Princeton after one year, he always held Princeton close to his heart.

The class extends condolences to Audrey and their children.
