Good Soil is a poignant meditation from author Jeff Chu on life on a farm after leaving his job as a prominent journalist in the hustle and bustle of New York City. The “Farminary” is a 21-acre working farm at Princeton Theological Seminary. Here, Chu learned from a variety of human and non-human teachers about the journey food takes to our plates and the story of his own roots. From his time watching the patterns of growth, death, and rejuvenation of the land and soil, Chu asks readers to stop and listen to what the earth is telling all of us. In the era of smartphone technology, Good Soil (Convergent Books) is a much-needed tribute to society's sacred connection to the natural world.
