A leading figure in avant-garde and experimental filmmaking, Friedrich combines her reflections with more than 100 black-and-white drawings and photographs. She recalls encounters with people in Algeria, Ghana, and Morocco; her time in Nigeria during a military coup; and journeys across the Sahara by truck and hitchhiking. Together, these stories create an intimate portrait of a young woman finding her way through a changing Africa.
