The University offered EARLY-ACTION ADMISSION to 714 students Dec. 16, or 18.5 percent of the 3,854 candidates who applied. Applications for early action were up by 1 percent from last year, when the acceptance rate was 18.3 percent. Of the admitted students, 15 percent are legacies, 48 percent are women, and 41 percent identified as members of U.S. minority groups.

The accountant for the TRIANGLE CLUB, Thomas J. Muza, was charged in November with embezzling more than $100,000 since 2010. Muza was dismissed by the club and suspended as general manager of McCarter Theatre.
