The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) has been ratified by 187 countries, but not the United States. The book examines the history of the treaty, and explains what impact it might have in this country if it were ratified. Baldez is an associate professor of government at Dartmouth and co-founder of the journal Politics and Gender.
